Christophe Morin
A staggering technique and a remarkable sound characterises the playing of Christophe Morin. His success is the result of an amazing cursus. At age 17, he is awarded a 1st Prize at the CNSM in Paris with his teache Rolland Pidoux and the same in Chamber music with Christian Ivaldi. He then goes on to study with teachers sucg as Mistslav Rostropovitch, Janos Starker and Yo-Yo MA.
He is regularly invited to play with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Abbado and Daniel Harding and performs around the world with chamber music groups of the orchestra.
He is currently leader of the European Camerata.
He is also regularly invied to play chamber music with artists such as Renaud Capucon, Nicholas Angekich, Jerome Ducros (with whom he recorded the Schubert trio op 100, acclaimed by the musical critics), Augustin Dumay, Jean Marc Luisada and Sarah Nemtanu.
Curious and passionate, he has also co-founded the festival “Printemps musical en re” for whom he is the musical director.
